Video Doesn't Play
Why do I get "Server busy" or "Network Error" in Windows Media Player? You can correct this by using HTTP protocol.
  • Tools menu -> Options
  • Network tab
  • Uncheck Multicast, UDP, and TCP
  • Click OK
  • Movies will play normally
Why does Windows Media player say connect to the internet? Sometimes Windows Media Player doesn't detect a permanent Internet connection.
  1. Tools menu > options
  2. Player tab > Check "Connect to the Internet"
The option is not present on WMP v8. Upgrade to v9 if possible. A workaround is described at Microsoft's website.

Video not clear or no video
Why is the picture blurry or still?
A low bit rate stream will not be as clear as a high bandwidth stream. In the extreme case, a very low bandwidth setting (28.8k) can cause the user to only receive audio. Make sure that the player bandwidth settings are appropriate and the user is selecting the correct stream bit rate.
Windows Media Player
  • Tools menu -> Options
  • Performance tab -> Choose connection speed 768kbps (56k for dial-up)
Why do I have no video in Windows Media Player? Most videos are for Windows Media Player 9+. They will play in earlier versions but without the video codec, only the sound can be heard. Install the codecs from Microsoft: Why does my player quit in the middle of viewing? If all else fails try the other player application OTHER QUESTIONS
I get this message when trying to view videos: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is not supported. If you typed a URL in the Open URL dialog box, try using a different transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:")." To configure protocol settings 1. In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options. 2. In the Options dialog box, on the Network tab, in the Streaming protocols area, select all the protocol check boxes (Multicast, UDP, TCP, and HTTP), so that a check mark is displayed in each.

QUESTION: I'm unable to view some of the Live Sex and Streaming Video sites. What should I do?
ANSWER: If you are unable to view the Streaming Video, here are a couple of know issues:
  • Some Windows XP users are encountering some error messages during the download and installation process. This seems to be due to an internal conflict(s) between the new Java engine download and the resident Microsoft Java engine. We have found that a solution to the conflict is to uninstall the new Sun Java engine and then reinstall it again. For some reason, this seems to clarify the conflicts and allows the new Sun Java engine to be properly integrated and utilized by the Windows XP operating system. This conflict seems to be machine specific and is not systemic with all XP users.
  • WindowsXP users may need to disable the built-in firewall. Click here for Details
  • If you have installed any personal internet security, such as Norton Internet Security, (not the same as Norton Anti-Virus) this service may have issues.

  • QUESTION: How do I clear the cache in my browser and why should I do this?
    ANSWER: Netscape and Internet Explorer will download a graphic and store it on your hard disk so that when you return to a previously viewed page, your browser will pull the graphic from the cache instead of downloading it. Browsers are configured to use a certain amount of your disk space (usually 10%). When that space is used, you are now maxed out, leaving your browser no choice but to delete old files. Therefore, this causes your browser and hard disk to work twice as hard. With Internet Explorer, you can clear your cache by selecting Tools then Internet Options and choose to delete temporary internet files or delete history. In Netscape, select Options|Network preferences and clear the memory cache and clear the disc cache.

    QUESTION: When I try and enter one of the feeds I am prompted for my username and password and it doesn't work. Why?
    ANSWER: None of the feeds on Tylersroom should prompt you for a user/pass so it is the feed's security you are being stopped by. Make sure the 'www' is in front of 'tylersroom.net' on all pages as some feeds use that as the full referring URL.

    QUESTION: What is a ZIP file and how do I use it?
    ANSWER: ZIP files are "archives" used for distributing and storing files. ZIP files contain one or more files. Usually the files "archived" in a ZIP are compressed to save space. ZIP files make it easy to group files and make transporting and copying these files faster. To use a ZIP file, we recommend that you Download Winzip.

    QUESTION: What are cookies?
    ANSWER: The main purpose of cookies is to identify users and possibly prepare customized Web pages for them.When you fill out a form, visit a web page or even when shopping and add things to your shopping cart most of these tasks use cookies to make the process easier. A cookie is nothing more than a text file that is sent from the website you are visiting to your computer. Your browser keeps this text file until it expires (an expiration date can be set when it is written), you delete it manually or using features in some browsers, or when it is not going to be used by the website any longer and the website (while you are visiting it) may decided to delete it. A cookie can only be read, deleted or managed by the website that wrote it.

    QUESTION: How do I save and view images on my computer?
    ANSWER: In most browsers, you can simply right click on the image and your computer will give you the option to save the image, or view it in a separate window. To view the image again later, or to view images from another source (such as a CD ROM) you can either open it in your browser or download a viewer.

    QUESTION: What are AVI's, MPEG's, and WMV files and how can I view them?
    ANSWER: These files are movie files that you can download to your computer and save them for later viewing. In order to do this, you will need to have the proper player. Type in "viewers" or "movie players" in any search engine and get a ton of links for video players, most of the feeds have a link for easy downloading. Most are fairly small and easy to install.
